The Langstroth hive is the backbone of conventional beekeeping. The brood and super boxes are built from solid pine, with a shutterply lid and floor. Every hive is hot-dipped in paraffin wax and arrives fully assembled — ready for your first colony with no further treatment required.

Our hot-dip process submerges every hive in molten paraffin wax for 20 minutes — deeply penetrating the wood rather than just coating the surface. It’s the most durable, food-safe treatment available, and the paraffin acts as a natural attractant to scout bees when the hive is placed in direct sun.
